Why I Like Uniform Dressing

I’m obsessed with fashion. I follow every collection, keep tabs on who's the creative director at each fashion house, and stay updated on the latest trends (and even the micro-trends). But while I love fashion, I’m even more passionate about developing a personal style—and those are two different things.

Personal style is your own unique expression of fashion. It's not just about the clothes you wear, but how you wear them. It’s a lifelong process of finding and refining what truly represents you.

Recently I’ve been interested in the concept of a personal style uniform. A personal style uniform is an outfit you wear on repeat that perfectly reflects your style and makes you feel confident and comfortable.

What Are the Benefits of a Personal Style Uniform?

  • You’ll always look put together.
When you have a go-to outfit that works for you, you’ll never have to worry about what to wear.

  • It saves you time.
No more stressing over outfit choices—it’s already been decided!

  • It saves you money.
By focusing on what truly works for you, you’ll avoid impulse buys and invest in pieces that are versatile and timeless.

How Do You Get Started?

You probably already have a few looks you wear regularly—those go-to outfits you feel comfortable in. In fact, you may already have a style uniform without realizing it! If not, start by drawing inspiration from movies, TV shows, or Pinterest. Take note of the silhouettes, colors, and patterns that naturally catch your eye.

A good way to start is by keeping your uniform relatively simple and experimenting with accessories and makeup to mix things up. For example, one of my uniforms is a pair of black ankle-length pants and a black turtleneck. I keep it fresh by switching up earrings, shoes, or even changing the color of the turtleneck to cream or light pink.

A style uniform isn’t just about sticking to the same look—it’s a way to experiment and evolve your personal style over time. I'd love to hear about your personal style uniform! Drop a comment and let me know what pieces you gravitate toward.
